Is America Experiencing a Return to Religion?

“Is America Experiencing a Return to Religion?” is a question inspired by Lauren Jackson’s NYT series “Believing,” launched in September, 2024, with three questions regarding their experience with religion and spirituality.  So far, she is publishing regular articles in the Times and a newsletter that invites responses and reports her findings.  She interviewed Krista Tippet and many other experts to add their insights to the work, and she offers her readers three questions to answer if they would like to contribute to her research.  With religion playing a growing role in our culture and in the management of our country, it’s an important subject to explore and to talk about.  You are invited to add your thoughts as we explore this first program on the subject.

Retired for the past ten years as a public school library/media teacher, Connie Ussery bicycles around the city (and beyond) with the No Wrong Turns UU Bike Club and sings with the GrUUves.  She has remained active in public speaking and research that interests her by presenting courses at Columbus Academy for Lifelong Learning as well as Sunday talks for our Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

Past President and longtime board member, Connie has been interest in UU values and community connections with the growing number of people who share them.  She also enjoys keeping current with trending topics on about everything with our Wednesday Night Discussion Group.  And she regularly attends Saturday morning Meditation and Buddhist Studies.
