
Stephen Akinduro is a dedicated mental health advocate affiliated with the Columbus chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Stephen is driven by a deep passion for supporting individuals and families affected by mental health conditions. In his work with NAMI, he is part of the leadership team and serves as a Peer-to-Peer mentor, In-Our-Own-Voice presenter, support group facilitator, and outreach specialist. He draws on structured guidance and shared lived experiences to foster hope, resilience, and community connection.
As an active speaker, Stephen shares his personal story with different audiences to break down stigma and spark meaningful dialogue. His mission is to inspire others to recognize that proactive mental health care is not merely beneficial, but vital to overall well-being. Through mentorship, group support, and community engagement, Stephen continues to empower individuals to prioritize their wellness and find strength in support networks.
