Rev. Cindy Garrard: “The Role of Doubt in Faith.”

Our guest speaker on Sunday, Oct. 22, is Rev. Cindy Garrard. She’s a retired (and distinguished) United Methodist pastor who served more than 35 years in local congregations. Her talk aligns with a theme of Unitarian Universalism and particularly with our Fellowship in Columbus. (We once ran a newspaper ad that read: “Got doubt? So do we!”)

Rev. Cinch Garrard

Rev. Garrard says this about doubt: “This idea is foundational to Judaism, but many Christians find it anathema. It has been an important concept for my faith and ministry.” Rev. Garrard earned a master’s degree of divinity from Birmingham-Southern College and a doctorate from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. She and her husband raised two daughters, one of whom, Lizzie Garrard DiQuattro, spoke to us in January.

Sunday services begin at 11 a.m., but join us early for coffee and conversation. Visitors are always welcome at our progressive Fellowship.
