Joanie Adras – “My Spiritual Journey”

Joanie Andras

Joanie Andras is an ordained Buddhist nun, a long‑time mindfulness teacher, and a respected spiritual presence in the Columbus community. With a doctorate in psychology and decades of study in philosophy, contemplative practice, and emotional well‑being, she brings both scholarly depth and gentle wisdom to her teaching.

Ordained in 2005, Joanie has dedicated her life to sharing the heart of Buddhist practice: compassion, clarity, and mindful awareness. She teaches meditation, leads study groups, and offers wisdom that help people navigate fear, anxiety, joy, and everyday life with greater understanding.

A beloved teacher at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbus, she is known for her calm presence, thoughtful guidance, and her ability to make ancient teachings accessible and deeply human. Her work continues to support individuals seeking grounding, healing, and a more mindful way of being.

At the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbus, GA, we are a liberal religion—not because of politics, but because of openness. Because we draw wisdom from many sources. Because we believe revelation is not sealed. Because we welcome questions, stories, and truths from every path. Join us for Sunday programs at 11:00 AM Eastern, come early to enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation!
