Guest speaker Kurt Schmitz was the longest-tenured TV meteorologist in Columbus, serving 21 years at WTVM and six years with WRBL.

He taught a class at the Columbus Academy for Lifelong Learning at CSU, centered around Bill Gates’ program: Solving for Zero–the need to get to zero net greenhouse gas emissions in every sector of the economy within 50 years. 

Kurt’s class took three quarters to complete, but today he will summarize this program in 15-20 minutes. He’ll talk about “eye popping data” causing deep concern among climate scientists. But Kurt isn’t an alarmist. He’ll talk about where the climate is now, where it’s heading and what we should do about it.
