Amanda Jones – “Spring Renewal”

Renewal often arrives softly; in a breath that grounds us, an act of kindness that transforms the day, in the willingness to begin anew after a moment of frustration or fatigue. As Unitarian Universalist, we are reminded that we are never done growing. Each moment invites us to come back to kindness, compassion, and connection. This Sunday we will reflect on renewal as a practice that restores us and helps us meet the world with an open heart.

Amanda Jones is the Fellowship’s chairperson for youth and children’s programs, earth-centered spirituality, special events. She’s also a frequent speaker and program planner. She has more than 30 years’ experience in service-based roles including Big Brothers and Big sisters and in churches as a youth director, a small-group leader and a worship team leader. Amanda is a student of mindfulness and meditation, as taught by Thích Nhất Hạnh and Plum Village. A natural connector, she helps build bridges across communities, encouraging creativity, reflection, and shared learning. Her leadership is marked by warmth, curiosity, and a steady commitment to justice and beloved community.

At the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbus, GA, we are a liberal religion—not because of politics, but because of openness. Because we draw wisdom from many sources. Because we believe revelation is not sealed. Because we welcome questions, stories, and truths from every path. Join us for Sunday programs at 11:00 AM Eastern, come early to enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation!
